Trump Advisor Thinks Faith in Jesus Is The Only Flu Vaccine You Need

"Inoculate yourself with the word of God."

A minister who serves as one of Trump's advisors has released a video in which she argues you can avoid contracting the deadly flu this year if you "inoculate yourself with the word of God."

Gloria Copeland, who is a televangelist serving on Trump's evangelical advisory board, opened the video by flatly denying the worst flu season since the 2009 swine flu pandemic. Nevermind an announcement from the CDC last week that revealed flu hospitalizations were at the highest in nearly a decade.

"Well listen partners, we don't have a flu season," Copeland said.

"We've got a duck season, a deer season, but we don't have a flu season."

Despite the lack of evidence to back up her bizarre claims, Copeland then tries to persuade her viewers that they shouldn't bother getting the flu vaccine at all – despite the fact that the CDC recommends everybody who is 6 months of age and older get the shot every season.

"We've already had our shot," explained Copeland.

"He bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases. That's what we stand on, and by his stripes we are healed."

And don't worry, if you contracted the flu shot before you found God, Copeland has got you covered.

"If you've already got the flu I'm gonna pray for you right now," she said, asking the Lord with his supernatural power to heal all those who are sick with the virus.

"Flu I bind you off of the people in the name of Jesus. Jesus himself gave us the flu shot. He redeemed us from the curse of flu."

But for those who aren't yet infected, there's really no need to worry if you've got the right mindset. Copeland says if you stick to positive thinking and the word of God, you will be a-okay - no matter what the scientists say.

"And if you say I don't have any symptoms of the flu, well great! That's the way it's supposed to be. Just keep saying that, 'I'll never have the flu. I'll never have the flu.' Innoculate yourself with the word of God."

Just add this video to a long list of ridiculous claims about the flu vaccine, including articles shared hundreds of thousands of times that claim the flu shot will actually give you the flu and tv hosts who reach millions of followers claiming they never give their family the flu shot because they want to boost their immune system.

At this rate, the influenza virus will be the end of us all.
